Movie goers are anxiously awaiting releases of new films and there are vast expectations when it comes to the anticipated film, The Hobbit, out in theatres in December 2012. The two part fantasy film directed by Peter Jackson is the long awaited prequel to the smashing hit series, The Lord of the Rings. Following the journey of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit, on his endeavor to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the vengeful and frightening Smaug, fans will not be disappointed as we walk hand in hand with Bilbo as he encounters dwarves, Goblins, spiders, Shape Shifters and myriad other characters in the Wild. It goes without saying that the films nail biting conclusion will rest on whether Bilbo defeats the main goblin, Gollum and learns how to use the powers of the fate changing ring he has acquired from said goblin.

The trailer shows a very likeable Bilbo, played by actor Martin Freeman whose credits include roles in the comedy, “Love Actually” and probably his most famous role as Tim Canterbury in the hit series, “The
Office.” Freeman brings his unconventional good looks and comedic talents to Hobbit, while mesmerizing the audience with his dramatic flair. Fans will travel this long, often times dark journey with Freeman willingly.

The breathtaking scenery to include cascading mountains and dungeon battles will heighten audience senses as they route Bilbo on and hope that his self growth makes the journey one worth taking. Gandalf, (played by Ian McKellen) wizard extraordinaire and master of all things trickery almost double dares Bilbo on his epic quest, joined by 13 dwarfs. It is a journey of riddles, seemingly never ending tunnels and a plethora of interesting characters around every corner.

The Hobbit trailer though is a tease and fans will be disappointed at its mere two minute and thirty-two second length. Inviting us to “share in an adventure” does give us a fleeting glimpse at the film’s irony, comedic forays and dark moments, but those without previous education to the Lord history will be lost but possibly still intrigued as the film switches back and forth from present day and flashbacks. Very few of the heavy hitters of the film are made present in the trailer but if you know enough about the LOTR, the shortness of this preview won’t both you and even if it does the buzz about the movie’s release will surely overshadow this mundane excerpt.

With the previous legal woes behind the studio that included arguments over who owned the legal rights to the film and rumors of an estimated, staggering cost for production reaching upwards of 500 million dollars, long waiting fans can rest easy as this awaited film finally sits the screen.

The second part of The Hobbit, titled “The Hobbit: There and Back Again” has a current United States release date of December 2013. Again directed by Jackson, with Freeman, Evans and Cumberbatch returning, fans love/hate relationship with the well known cast is sure to return for the final installment.

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins known simply as Adele here in the U.S. is a 23 year old, sultry pop star who first appeared on the pop scene in her homeland London. At the age of 14, Adele attended The Brit School where she recorded a few demos on assignment. She also created a MySpace page where a friend uploaded said demos, which at the time received little recognition.

It wasn’t until the release of her debut album in the U.K, “19” in January 2008 (then released in the U.S. in June of that year) that Adele properly splashed onto the music scene and gained notoriety. Drawing inspiration from her real life experiences with love and challenges of transitioning from adolescence into womanhood, Adele made her mark with mega-hits such as “Chasing Pavements,” and a cover of Bob Dylan’s “To Make You Feel My Love.” In 2009, Adele was nominated for four Grammy Awards and won two of them; Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

Two years later, still reeling from the success of “19” the soul/pop songstress released her current chart topping album, appropriately titled “21.” The progression from the latter album to this one is evident. Though most of the topics remain the same (love gone wrong), lyrically, fans of this songbird will notice and revel in the changes and growth apparent in Adele’s poetic dialogue. From the borderline angst in “Rolling in the Deep” where she exudes just the right amount of regret of a love affair gone awry and subtle promises of darker days for the one that left her behind, to the more blatant, desperate groveling in “Take It All” one thing is clear: Adele has indeed experienced heartbreak, adult style and the remnants of her torrid affairs and pieces of her broken heart are solidified on “21” for all her fans to appreciate and relate to.

Though her success is still young, it is unlikely that Adele will be fading into obscurity anytime in the near future. Nominated for an astounding six Grammy Awards, to be aired in Los Angeles on February 12, 2012, she is in the running for Record of the Year-Rolling In The Deep, Song of the Year-Rolling In The Deep, Album of the Year-21, Best Pop Solo Performance-Someone Like You, Best Pop Vocal Album-21 and Best Short Form Video-Rolling In The Deep. Deserving, yes, but the trek won’t be easy as she will go head to head with other pop divas such as Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Rihanna in respective categories like Album and Record of the Year and ward off contenders Bruno Mars for Song of the Year and Pink in the Best Pop Solo Performance category. Still, even if she should leave the Grammys sans awards, Adele certainly has a plethora of things to be thankful for and many future endeavors to delve into. One thing is certain; her fans will be along for the ride, regardless of its direction.

In spite of her recent vocal cord surgery from which she is still recovering slowly, Adele is slated to perform her current hit, “Someone Like You” at the 54th Grammy awards airing on February 12. Until then, diehard fans can stay abreast of all that is Adele through her MySpace fan page and follow her on Twitter @ OfficialAdele.

Trends in 2011 ran rampant and even as we prepare to close out the New Year and make our resolutions that we swear this year we are going to keep, we are all still buzzing about who is who, what’s new and vogue and what bigger and better things we can expect in 2012. So what’s still hot right now and where will the New Year take us on our epic journey through Hollywood and pit stops at the water cooler?

Well, Drake is someone we all love to talk about, whether it’s his new hit single baring his sexy midriff or placing bets as to whether he and Rihanna will ever hook up. Turns out there is something else to talk about; Mr. Cool was recently seen sans shirt sporting a nifty new tattoo-homage to the late R&B sensation Aaliyah whose short life ended on August 25, 2001 when her twin engine plane crashed in the Bahamas killing her and 8 others onboard.

If you’re missing the 90’s hair bands and squeals of electric guitars you are in luck as Van Halen prepares to jet set on their 2012 reunion tour with tickets going on sale on January 10th. It is David Lee Roth who departed from Van Halen in the height of their success in 1985 (soon replaced by Sammy Hagar) who will front the band; Eddie Van Halen (guitarist), Alex Van Halen (drummer), and Wolfgang Van Halen (bassist) will complete the band. It appears the band is making a play for an all out come back, as they have recently signed a record contract with Interscope Records and are rumored to be releasing a new album sometime in 2012, again with Roth supplying the lead vocals.

The trailer for the much anticipated fairy tale movie, “Jack the Giant Killer” hit YouTube on December 15th and fans are excited for the movie’s release on June 15, 2012. This is a modern day story of boy loves princess, princess is captured by big, bad giants and boy must slay said giants in an effort to save his damsel in distress. The cast includes Nicholas Hoult as Jack and Ewan McGregor starring as Elmont, the leader of the king’s guard who will assist Jack with his giant battles.

Hunger Games is expected to be one of 2012’s biggest hits, releasing in theatres on March 23rd and what would a blockbuster movie be without a hit soundtrack. Well we won’t have to ponder that question any further because Universal has released statements announcing the soundtrack’s debut sometime prior to the film’s release. The project was overseen by none other than T Bone Burnett himself and contributors to the album include Taylor Swift, The Decemberists and Arcade Fire.

Since 2008, Bieber fever has been sweeping the nation and it is not dying out any time soon it appears. Even in the midst of baby-mama drama, a more prevailing question nagged us. What would the maturing before our eyes Bieber do with his cascading locks, since fashion dictates that form follows function and a new do must follow puberty. If you thought the J-Man would lose a few fans after parting with his infamous shag, you were wrong. It appears that the new, shorter and at times daringly spiky style still has girls going gaga. Look out Gomez-hyperventilating girls are diggin’ the transformation. Still.

It’s only been a few short years, but fans are eagerly awaiting the newest installment of Spiderman. Hollywood has a habit of regurgitating the old, but history shows audiences never tire of a dependable superhero and this summer’s release of The Amazing Spiderman will most likely prove to be as successful if not more so than its previous releases.

This film is sure to be one of the year’s heavy hitters and is fraught with young talent. Andrew Garfield, most recently and notably known for his performance in 2010’s “The Social Network” for which he received a Golden Globe nomination, will likely dazzle fans as Peter Parker aka, Spiderman. Of course, acting alongside beautiful and now a prominent fixture in Hollywood, Emma Stone will no doubt help him shine as she supports his character, playing Ms. Gwen Stacy. Stone dazzled film critics and audiences alike in 2011 with supporting roles in “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and most notably stole the show in the blockbuster hit, “The Help” which grossed over 200 million at the box office.

Even the best scripts need good supporting actors and this one is no different. A young, handsome Tom Felton (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, 2010) will play the part of Spiderman’s best pal still grappling with earning his never pleased father’s respect and trying to get out of his bff’s shadow.

Hugh Laurie, with all his years experience playing the egocentric doctor on the syndicated series “House” who we love to hate, and hate to love, should add more than subtle flavor to the character of J. Jonah Jameson, the narcissistic publisher of the Daily Bugle who wants nothing more than to discredit Spiderman and catapult his son John into the spotlight as a true hero.

Uncle Ben and Aunt May are played by multiple Emmy and Golden globe recipient, Martin Sheen and previous America’s Sweetheart (pre-Sandra Bullock) Sally Field, whose impressive resume extends over five decades. Fields has won two Academy Awards for her roles in “Norma Rae” (1979) and “Places of the Heart” (1984) as well as sweeping numerous Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards throughout her career.

Other smaller, albeit respective roles include Ashley Green (Twilight) as Black Cat/Felicia Hardy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, screen beauty Mila Kunis in her role as Betty Brant and another Hollywood favorite, Josh Harnett, whose first featured film had him playing opposite scream queen, Jamie Lee Curtis, in the 1998 Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later. Harnett also won the hearts of millions of girls and women in his role as Captain Danny Walker in the blockbuster “Pearl Harbor” opposite Ben Affleck.

Not that this impending, comparatively locked in winning film needs additional help (the comic’s popularity over decades will prove to be enough) but Francine Maisler and the other powers that be at Marvel Studios knew what they were doing when they cast roles for this next 3D investiture. The possibilities are endless when a studio combines a first rate script, visionary laden directors and an overwhelmingly attractive cast.

Once again MySpace is looking to stay alive and compete with its counterparts in the media. Launching their new and improved Music Player, new owners Specific Media have not only sharpened the image of Music Player, they have also enhanced many of its accessories. Boasting a faster and better search engine, music lovers can now search and listen to over 42 million archived songs on MySpace. Of the 42 million songs, MySpace has exclusive rights to 30 million songs to include tunes from not yet signed artists and independent franchisers and labels.

MySpace’s audience has seen a dramatic decrease since November of last year; their user ratings fell to a current 24.9 million from a previous high of 54.3 million. Specific Media is hopeful that with the new integrations, as well as collaborating with the media king, Facebook, their user ratings will again increase to previous, more promising numbers. Partnering up with Facebook, who as of 2011 has over 800 million users, was indeed a savvy business decision made by COO of MySpace, Chris Vanderhook.

The MySpace website promises future users “improved functionality, radio mode and sync capabilities” that can be shared both on MySpace and with Facebook users. Their search engine includes features such as “discover and browse,” “similar songs,” and “editor picks.” As with other media players, users can choose to listen to singular songs or full albums and can create their own playlists.

The new radio mode allows users to continually listen to their radio favorite’s commercial free. MySpace will also suggest radio playlists according the history of the users listening choices. In radio mode, users will have access to 15 million artists, including those who are not yet signed, and can also find the link to those artist’s radio station websites for additional information.

Other attractive options include a lyrics tab that will tell you the name of that new song you absolutely love but have no idea who the band is that sings it. Sending your favorite tunes to your friends via email or instant message will also be a thing of the past; now users can simply send the MySpace band url to friends and they too can enjoy and rave about what’s now and up and coming. A state of the art comment section is just what the doctor ordered for those who want to vent and share whatever their opinions may be. And of course, saving the best for last, the cliché’ “If it’s free, it’s for me” also pertains to the music player. The entire site is ad supported, which means users can access all features free of charge, and free of annoying ad voice over’s interrupting the world premiere of Drake’s or any other artists newest hit.

Recognizing the need to reinvent MySpace in order to stay toe to toe with competition, the powers that be have been in a promoting frenzy for the past year, embellishing in specific licensing agreements with super star players such as Universal, Sony and EMI and partnering with over 20,000 independent labels in hopes of becoming the number one main stream music streaming mongrel. Time will tell if the MySpace Music Player will deliver.

You have to wonder if everyone has, at one point in their lives, wished they had a twin; A mirror image of themselves with whom they could share their most personal thoughts and secrets. And then there are those of the school of thought that twins share special powers. All those documented stories of psychic powers, twins separated at birth and yet somehow when reunited find that they share scary commonalities even though they were raised hundreds of miles apart. Capitulating stories of one twin being hurt somewhere away from their sibling and yet the other feels or just knows it. It’s fascinating. What else fascinates us? Celebrities! Therefore, celebrity twins makes for interesting reading. Some are household names, but you may be surprised to learn about some of the most famous faces that have twins that are lesser known. Check it out.

Of course the most famous twins that usually come to mind are the Olsen twins, Mary Kate and Ashley. Breaking into show business at the tender age of nine months, Mary Kate and Ashley are most known for their shared role on the popular hit series Full House which ran from 1987-1995. Since that time, both girls have successfully marketed themselves in a plethora of video series and are in their own right icons in the world of fashion. In 2007, Forbes magazine listed both girls as the 11th richest women with a net worth of over 100 million dollars.

Dylan and Cole Sprouse are most known for their roles in “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” while others may remember them acting alongside Adam Sandler in the movie hit “Big Daddy.” In 2005 this heart throb duo found another way to brand themselves and started their own clothing line and comic book series, Sprouse Bros with Dualstar Entertainment.

Aaron Carter shares his twin hood with his sister Angel Carter. Usually spoken about with his other sibling and more famous brother Nick, only diehard fans seem to know about Angel. The pair shared the spotlight in 2006 when their family reality show “House of Carters” debuted to dismal ratings and was cancelled after one season. Since that time Angel has remained out of the spotlight.

Few people may know that Justin Timberlake had a twin sister named Laura Katherine. The reason for this tragically is probably because his twin sister lived only a few minutes after birth and except for a mention of her while he was in the band N’Sync on their album cover, Timberlake rarely, if ever, speaks of her publicly. Subsequently, The King himself, Elvis Presley also had a twin who haplessly passed away at birth. Throughout his lifetime, Elvis spoke of his twin brother, Jesse Garon Presley and was often quoted as saying that he always felt as though something was missing in his life.

As if Gisele Bundchen’s beauty were not enough for the general world population to be envious about, it turns out that we have two reasons to be jealous. This Brazilian goddess also has a twin sister Patricia who is five minutes younger.

Three and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher also shared the womb with younger twin brother Michael, who was born with Cerebral Palsy. Reportedly, the two brothers have always been close and Michael credits Ashton as being his best friend and one of his biggest supporters.

The year 2011 lived up to its expectation and brought us many celebrities who sparkled in glitter and gold. From music to movies, fan favorites had shining moments throughout 2011; new comers made grand entrances; celebrities shocked us with racy illicit affairs; a new princess was crowned and we all made peace with saying farewell to our favorite wizard, Harry Potter. So, which stars shone the brightest in all that was amazing? Let’s take a look.

Emma Stone, the fair haired, soft spoken beauty had an amazing year. While her resume has been slightly impressive in past years for her supporting roles in films such as “Super Bad” (2007) and “Ghosts of Girlfriend’s Past” (2009), it was 2011 that catapulted Stone into the spotlight and earned her a respectable and well deserved title as a serious actress with mucho talent. It is amazing for any actor to have a hit film in one year, but Stone managed to surpass that in her back to back roles in first, “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and following it up with the critically acclaimed, “The Help.” Stone recently finished production of “The Amazing Spiderman” due in theatres in 2012 as well as starring in the movie “4D” also due out in 2012.

Natalie Portman made headlines as well. Scoring an Oscar for her role in “Black Swan” and welcomed her first child with Swan’s choreographer, Benjamin Millepied, it is safe to say, Portman is ending 2011 on a positive note.

Finally, Edward and Bella have consummated their relationship after years of public outcries plagued gossip magazines and flooded Google engines. “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1” put to rest any rumors of Bella thrashing Edward to the side for Jacob, and finally the pair’s enduring, albeit challenging relationship has been solidified in a violent but still passionate conclusion. Ahh.

Ten years after J.K Rowling first introduced us to the boyish charm and magic wit of Harry Potter, the time has come to bid farewell to our all time favorite wizard. “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2” had audiences riveted in their seats for over two hours and none were left disappointed in the final moments of the film’s conclusion. Saying goodbye was indeed difficult, but fans of Daniel Radcliff need not cry over spilled milk; followers will be able to see him in his upcoming horror film, “The Woman in Black” due out in theatres February 2012.

Actors had a decadent year in 2011 but music artists are hot on their heels. Bieber fever is still very much alive in 2011. Flaunting a new hair cut that will no doubt inspire millions of teenage boys to make trips to their hairdressers, Bieber continued his rise to ridiculous levels of fame throughout the year. Performing a concert for hundreds of underprivileged kids, guest appearances on the X Factor, a movie that grossed over 73 million dollars and one paternity test later, Bieber still ranks at the top of the best stars of 2011 list.

Certainly the stars list could not conclude without mention of her royal highness, Kate Middleton. Middleton married her college sweetheart, and Prince William, second in line to the royal throne on April 29 and has since been front and center on all things fashionable and charitable. Voted beauty icon of 2011, the public is now anxiously awaiting to hear pending news on the couple’s possible pregnancy and 2012 plans.

Album sales are at a record high after years of slipping and so are music videos. Day in and out music fans scour MySpace, Vivo and YouTube to watch their favorite performers croon into their microphones, see what’s trendy in fashion and to get a sneak peek at “who’s who” among guest cameos. 2011 brought music maestros their fair share of all that is glitz, glamour, raunchy and sultry. Here is a look at the top MySpace videos of the past year.

Sporting afros that reached heights we haven’t seen since Kid n’ Play, LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It” video complete with boom boxes and barely there bottoms leaves little to our imaginations.

Ludacris’ “Nasty Girl” gives it to us straight about working by day, partying by night and as always, reminds watchers that cool and sex never go out of style.

Mrs. Right-“Mindless Behavior” starring none other than the ultra cool L.L. Cool J (looking more than fine even in a V-neck sweater, bowtie and glasses as only he could) shows off the talent and Justin Timberlakesque finesse of these young, albeit mature voices. This video makes learning fun.

Britney Spears- “Criminal” Still sporting envious abs, this video is minimally comedic showcasing Britney as an outlaw running from the law after committing a spree of crimes with her “criminal” boyfriend. Pleading to her parents “that it will be alright,” she’s just in love with a criminal; this time around Britney shows off less of her vocal talents and nil of her dancing skills and instead goes for a mini-docudrama style format leaving fans, well, probably laughing.

Taylor Swift-“Ours” A very mousy looking Swift singing a sweet, but lackluster song makes watching this video rather painful; but with over 200,000 views since its December 13th release, Swift fans remain true even if they can’t get these four minutes back. Ever.

Pitbull-“Give Me Everything” All the necessary components for a successful video: Pitbull wearing sexy shades in a dimly lit room. Check. Scantily clad beautiful women. Check. Expensive liquor. Check. Disco balls in a maxed to capacity club. Yup, it’s all in here.

Nicki Minaj-“Super Bass” Nicki is definitely hard to resist and miss with her cotton candy pink hair and daisy dukes dancing and gyrating atop ice sculptures. Add in glow in the dark shoelaces and feathers and what you end up with is an all American party-Nicki style.

Chris Brown-“Look at Me Now” Fully recovered from the Rihanna scandal that plagued him through most of 2011, Brown is back on the market and looking genuinely unscathed. With help from his friends, Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, “Look at Me Now” is an attractive blend of get down flashiness and fancy footwork. Brown resurrected.

Foster The People-“Pumped Up Kicks” Strange voices, strange video and a revisit of the message hold on to your sneakers, this video is rising in popularity by the minute.

Shakira-“She Wolf” Though released in 2009, this video remains on top of the most viewed still in 2011. A bombshell clad in a nude body suit dancing around seductively in a cage..enough said.

Beyonce-“End Of Time” (Live at Roseland) Promising to “Never let you go” Beyonce splashes around in her usual style, with the usual flare in front of an adoring crowd. This colorful video brings an older generation back to the good old days of Miami Sound Machine with its Latin feel and fancy footwork. In high heels no less.

As 2011 comes to a close, movie goers are anxiously awaiting the next best thing in film for 2012. Thankfully actors, screenwriters and producers have been hard at work competing for what they hope will be box office hits in the coming year. The economy, which has seen better times, will continue to dictate what and where consumers will spend their hard earned dollars on; and we will continue to be picky. Here are a few films that are highly anticipated.

The Woman in Black (Feb. 3): Little Harry Potter is all grown up but faithful followers still reeling from saying goodbye in Deathly Hallows are ready to see what Daniele Radcliff has to offer in this dark film adapted from a novel written by Susan Hill in 1983. Radcliff plays the part of Arthur Kipps, a young, unassuming lawyer who travels to a small town in the U.K. to look over the estate of reclusive Mrs. Drablow after her passing. Shortly after his arrival he begins noticing all the components that make up a good horror story; strange noises in the night, unexplainable screams of terror and incomprehensible visions of horse drawn carts. There is also the question of a perplexing “local” dressed in all black who becomes fixated on Kipps. The Woman in Black has a secret and so does the townspeople and they’re not talking. Viewers will accompany Radcliff on his valorous journey of secret discoveries in another case of let sleeping dogs lie.

John Carter (Mar. 9): Science fiction lovers can embark on this epic journey with Civil War veteran, John Carter played by Taylor Kitsch, in his race against time to save the inhabitants of Mars known as the “Barsooms” from their quickly dying planet.

Hunger Games (Mar. 23): This futuristic film introduces 16- year- old Katniss Everdeen who replaces her sister in the yearly held, televised Hunger Games of her homeland, Panum, a post-apocalyptic country in North America. Using her hunting and other survival skills, Everdeen smartly tries to outwit her competitors in a race to be the last one standing, in a game where the rules keep changing.

Wrath of the Titans (Mar. 30): Now a single father to his 10 -year- old- son, Perseus is looking forward to a tranquil life after defeating the monstrous Kraken in this sequel to Clash of the Titans. He soon learns a peaceful existence will have to wait, as he answers his calling to once again play peacemaker to the fulminating Gods and once again embarks on a journey to save Zeus, his family and humankind.

The Avengers (May 4): Nick Fury is big man on the totem pole at S.H.I.E.L.D, an international peacekeeping company who together, with his team of super heroes embarks on an epic journey to save the world from disaster.

Men in Black 3 (May 25): In this 3rd installment of MIB, ten years have passed but Smith and Jones are still up to their old games fighting aliens who intent to take over mankind, this time their sights being on a much younger version of Agent J. In this 3rd go-round it is much more of the same: slimy outer space creatures, big guns and minimal comedic talent.

The Amazing Spiderman (July 3) : Being released in 3D, devoted fans of this long running comic book series will have yet another reason to cheer on their favorite comic hero as he solves crime and rescues more damsels in distress.

Some say it is money—but I steadfastly hold onto my belief that it is music that truly makes the world go round and in 2011 there has been no shortage of extraordinary albums released. Thanks to dependable favorites like Eminem, Kanye West and Pink, as well as the abundance of new comers on the music scene such as The band Perry and Skrillex, Nielsen SoundScan’s mid-year 2011 report shows music sales are finally up for the first time in over six years. (source) So what were the top selling albums of 2011?

Adele-21: She came onto the music milieu in 2008, but it was the release of her album titled “21” in 2011 that her record sales soared to such heights that she is now a respected contender to make a clean sweep at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on February 12, 2012. With over 2.5 million albums sold to date (and counting) since February, Adele has won over audiences of all ages with her soulful, heartbreaking lyrics. Reminiscent but not as angst as Avril Levigne and as swooning as Etta James, she has undoubtedly made her mark and remains promising for 2012.

Eminem-Recovery: Tipper Gore fought the law, and the law won. Ever explicit, Eminem still remains a force to be reckoned with. Released in June 2010, Recovery sold 741,000 copies in the first week of its release and is one of the top selling albums in 2011. “Love The Way Lie” (featuring Rihanna) an in-your-face ditty about domestic violence shocked and rocked the music scene and quickly became a poster board message for those who suffer from abuse. On a more positive note, “Not Afraid” once again saw Eminem pleading with his fans to once again walk down the slippery slope of life’s woes with him “for better or worse.” The jury is in: Eminem still endures for better.

LMFAO: Sorry for Party Rocking: Much like the one hit wonder of 1992, Right Said Fred who knew they were “Too Sexy,” LMFAO rolls in as a new found gem in 2011 with their hit album and narcissistic single “Sexy and I Know It.” This Los Angeles based duo kept old time hopefuls Jennifer Lopez and Chris Brown among others from reaching number one on the ITunes charts for weeks when their previous album Rock Party Anthem debuted and it looks like it will be much of the same with this one. With guest appearances from Busta Rhymes on the track “Take It To The Hole” and GoonRock on “We Came Here To Party,” no doubt fans will be laughing their way into the new year and beyond alongside LMFAO.

Lady Antebellum-We Owned The Night: This easy on the eyes trio continues to win the hearts of country as well as some cross over pop fans with their second no. 1 album and how could they not? With flawless harmonies in “We Owned the Night” and the smooth cooing of Hillary Scott on other tracks like “When You Were Mine” are all following a formula for success. True blue country fans may though, be disheartened, as this group’s 3rd album seems to be straying more and more from country to the pop genre.

Other billboard 2011 winners include Jason Aldean, The Band Perry, Rihanna, Nickelback, Drake and many, many others.
